    V. A. NAUMOV.   NEUTRINOS IN PHYSICS & ASTROPHYSICS   (JINR, Dubna, Fall term 2024)

Annual course of lectures for students in V-VI courses of the JINR-based Department of Fundamental and Applied Problems of Microworld Physics of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University), Faculty of Physics of the Moscow State University, and with some reduction and redistribution of the material for postgraduates and "lecturegoers" of the JINR University Center, Dubna.

The content of the lectures reflects to a certain extent the research direction of the Neutrino Physics Sector (Sector #3) of the Bogoliubov Lab of Theoretical Physics (BLTP) .

This is a living project that will be updated as needed.

NOTE: In fact, only a portion (usually <2/3) of the full course included in the slides was presented in the fall semesters. In particular, the content of the Appendices is optional and is not discussed in lectures. On the other hand (and more importantly), only a very small portion of the material actually discussed in the course (orally or using the black board) is included in the slides. So slackers will be disappointed: slides are by no means a substitute for the lectures. In any case, I hope that the slides and the references they contain (including Internet links) will be useful as an illustrated compendium of lectures. Questions, comments, and suggestions of any kind from students are always welcome. Thank you in advance for pointing out errors and typos.

TECHNOTE: The PowerPoint files ("pptx", "ppsm", etc.) can be viewed by PowerPoint from Microsoft Office 365 or 2019 (older versions of PowerPoint and PowerPoint Viewer may encounter some unplayable effects) and by free WPS Office (everything seems to work perfectly, but please let me know if it doesn't).

ADDITIONAL MATTERS (not a part of the course, but have several intersections)

Introduction to Cosmic Rays (Lectures given in the spring semesters 2003-2005 for postgraduates of Physics Department, Florence University, Sesto Fiorentino; partially obsolete, but might still be of some utility as an extension of section "Atmospheric Neutrinos".)
