Humboldt Kolleg/XIV INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE

Symmetry Methods in Physics

Tsakhkadzor, Armenia

August 16 - 22, 2010

OVERVIEW

The XIV International Conference on Symmetry Methods in Physics (SYMPHYS-XIV) organized by the International Center for Advanced Studies at Yerevan State University in collaboration with the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research will be held in Tsakhkadzor, Armenia, at August 16 - 22, 2010.

The first five Conferences were organized by the Institute of Physics and Power Engineering in Obninsk from 1986 to 1991. Later, the SYMPHYS Conferences were held at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna: 1993, 1995, 1997 and 2009, in Thechnical University, Prague, Czech Republic in 2004, and in Yerevan State University, in Yerevan, Armenia in 2001, 2003 and 2006.

The preliminary programme of SYMPHYS-XIV traditionally includes the following topics:

  • Integrable and superintegrable systems;
  • Symmetries of differential and difference equations;
  • Lie groups, representation theory and special functions;
  • Noncommutative geometry and quantum mechanics;
  • Foundations of quantum mechanics;
  • Supersymmetry in quantum mechanics;
  • Quantum optics, coherent states, Wigner distribution function;
  • Symmetry in molecular, atomic and nuclear physics;
  • Mathematical methods.
