General Info

The Helmholtz International Summer School "Dense Matter 2015" organized by the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics, JINR, in the framework of the program DIAS-TH, will be held in Dubna, Russia, from June 29 to July 11, 2015. The previous "Dense Matter" schools took place in Dubna in 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012 .

The preliminary program of the school includes the following topics:

  • Equation of state and QCD phase transitions
  • Transport properties in dense QCD matter
  • Hadronization and freeze-out in heavy ion collisions (HIC)
  • Astrophysics of compact stars (CS)
  • Simulations of dense QCD, HIC and CS
  • Dense matter in strong electromagnetic fields
  • Experiments and observational programs

The total number of participants is expected to be about 70.

PhD or master students and young postdocs are invited to apply for participation. The application should include C.V., list of publications and a reference letter.

The deadline for submitting applications is April 15, 2015. The applications will not be considered without reference letters. The list of accepted participants will be announced on May 1, 2015. The lectures start on Monday, June 29, 2015.

Participants and lecturers are kindly advised to come to the Bogoliubov Laboratory for Theoretical Physics already starting from 9 a.m. on Monday, June 29, since the entrance through the gate by passport takes time. The registration will be open and also the conference hall where internet access is available. The School starts at 10:00 sharp.

Participants are encouraged to prepare an oral presentation or a poster about their recent work or PhD thesis project. All participants of the School are automatically registered without any fee for the SQM'2015 conference . Their selected talks will be presented at SQM'2015 special session for young scientists.
