International Seminar "Selected Problems of Modern Physics"

First Announcement

An International Seminar devoted to the 65th anniversary of the Chair of Theoretical Physics of N.G. Chernyshevsky Saratov State University (SSU) will be held in SSU in June 16 - 18. The Chair was founded on the initiative of Prof. D.I. Blokhintsev. Later, on its base, the Chair of Theoretical and Nuclear Physics and the Chair of Theoretical and Mathematical Physics were organized on its basis. The Seminar will include a ceremonial opening and talks of participants devoted to modern problems of theoretical, nuclear, and applied physics.

Scientific program

The Seminar will include invited plenary lectures (up to 45 min.), original talks (up to 20 min.) and posters.
The main topics to be covered are:
1. Quantum field theory

2. High energy and particle physics

3. Nonlinear and stochastic problems in theoretical physics

4. Few-body physics
5. Astrophysics and Cosmology

6. Nonlinear interaction of radiation with matter

7. Quantum optics and photonics

8. Nuclear and neutron physics

9. Many-body physics

Contributions and Proceedings

Talks will be selected by the Organizing Committee on the basis of abstracts to be submitted before May 1, 2003.
Selected papers will be published in the Seminar Proceedings, a special circular with the instructions for authors will be sent out later.

Participation and fees

The registration fee is 200 USD payable in cash upon arrival only. It includes Proceedings, welcome party, coffee-breaks and local transportation. The deadline for applications is May 1, 2003.

Social program

The Organizing Committee is planning to arrange excursions to museums and a barbeque party
