N.N. Bogoliubov Prize for Young Scientists

The Bogoliubov Prize for young scientists for 2006, established by the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in 1999, has been awarded to Aurelien Barrau from the Laboratory for Subatomic Physics and Cosmology, and Joseph Fourier University, Grenoble, France for a sequel of papers on astrophysics and cosmology.

Studies of Dr. Barrau are devoted to quantum physics in the vicinity of black holes which is one of the most fascinating fields of physics. Dr. Barrau visited Dubna and gave talk "Black holes and quantum fields: from paradox to paradigm" at the seminar of the Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics, JINR The Prize was awarded to Dr. Barrau by the JINR Director A.N. Sissakian on 15 December at the meeting of the JINR Directorate with the CNRS delegation.
