INFORMATION BULLETIN |
The Bogoliubov Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of the Joint Institute
for Nuclear Research is organizing the
"Xth Workshop on High Energy Spin Physics (NATO ARW
DUBNA-SPIN03)",
which will take place in
Dubna, Russia, September 16 - 20, 2003
The First Workshop on High Energy Spin Physics chaired by Prof.
L.I. Lapidus was held in Dubna 22 years ago. This was followed by the
series of biennial workshops in the odd years. The last one was in Dubna
on August 2-7, 2001. The Proceedings of the workshop with talks and discussions
are available from the Publishing Department of JINR at http://www1.jinr.ru/
for modest price.
The Xth ARW will take place in Dubna on September 16-20,
2003 under the sponsorship of JINR, the International Committee for Spin
Physics Symposia, Russian Foundation for Basic Research and NATO Science
Program as a joint Dubna-Prague-Warsaw NATO ARW.
We hope that it will offer an opportunity to a large group of physicist
and students from Russia and other JINR Member States Laboratories and
Universities to participate in the ARW.
|
Scientific Programm |
The ARW will cover a wide range of spin phenomena at high and intermediate
energies such as:
-
Spin Physics and QCD
-
Spin Physics beyond the Standard Model
-
Spin Structure of Nucleon and GPD's
-
T-odd Spin Effects
-
Recent Experimental Data on Spin Physics
-
Acceleration and Storage of Polarized Beams
-
Polarized Solid and Gas Jet Targets and Storage Cells
-
Polarimeters for High Energy Polarized Beams

Place of the workshop
The Workshop will be held in the Bogoliubov
Laboratory of Theoretical Physics of the Joint
Institute for Nuclear Research, 141980 Dubna,
Moscow Region, Russia. The programm of the workshop will include plenary
and parallel (if necessary) sessions. Plenary sessions will be held in
the Conference Hall. Parallel sections (if necessary) will take place in
the same building. The invited speakers will give talks on new experimental
and theoretical results, and recent progress in technology. Time allotted
for an invited talk should not exceed 40 minutes, and that for an original
reports - 20 minutes.
The abstracts for reports should be submitted to the Organizing Committee
(in simplest LaTex form without preambula) by July 1, 2003.
The ARW working language will be English .

The contributions presented will be published soon after the ARW and will
be sent out to all the registered participants. The volume of an original
report, including tables, figures and references should not exeed 5 pages
and that of an invited talk - 10 pages. The contributions should be sent
to the Organizing Committee by December 1, 2003
About the Town
Dubna is a
quiet and pleasing town 132 km north of Moscow situated on the picturesque
banks of the Volga river. There is a railway and bus communication between
Dubna and Moscow. Its surroundings offer a peaceful rural scenery which,
though having no famous monuments, keeps memories of the past. Two hours
trip brings you to Moscow, Sergiev Posad (the Russian Orthodox center with
its 500-year-old Trinity Monastery).
Transportation and Accomodation
Transportation from/to the Moscow airport Sheremetievo or any Moscow railway
station will be provided the organizers. Information on the arrival date,
time and flight/train number should be send to the ARW Co-ordinator by
September 10, 2003.
During the ARW the participants will be accommodated in the local Dubna
hotel. To reach the workshop place from the hotel no local transport is
needed.
Climate
In September temperature usually fluctuates from +5/10 C at night up to
+10/15 C in the daytime, rains are quite possible.

Visa and Registration |
The registration fee will be US $250 or EUR 220 (in cash only) for participants
and US $150 or EUR 130 for accompanying persons. The registration fee includes:
car transportation from Moscow airport or railway stations to Dubna and
back, hotel accommodation (single room with shower and breakfast, more
luxury accomodation will also be available for additional payment), coffee
breaks, welcome party, banquet, social events and a copy of the ARW Proceedings.
Some financial support might be possible on request preferably for young
scientists from Russia and other JINR Member States. The fee will be collected
in Dubna, during the registration of the participants.
To arrange visa support participants are kindly requested to inform
the Organizing Committee of their personal data (see Registration
Form). The included Registration Form, duly filled up as well as a
fax copy of the passport most important pages, has to be sent before July
1, 2003 to the ARW Coordinator. If one applies for the visa in not
one's native country a fax copy of the document permiting one's stay in
that country is also necessary.
